Panic attacks can come on suddenly and can be very frightening and unpleasant. It can seem like that they come out of the blue and that you don't really have control of when they happen, and how to stop or prevent them.

If you are looking for help for panic attacks you might be wondering what the best therapy for panic attacks is, and if hypnotherapy for panic attacks can help you to gain lasting relief.

As a specialist in anxiety and anxiety disorders, I provide effective treatment for panic attacks, panic disorder and anxiety attacks. I use the most effective holistic approaches.

You may have had treatment for panic attacks before, such as with CBT, and are still trying to cope. You may even realise that you are no real danger, but you just can’t seem to calm yourself down.

Once having had a panic attack, it’s very common for people develop a fear of having another one in the future and will avoid places and situations that they fear might bring one on. Just the fear of having a panic attack can be enough to trigger one.

If you are experiencing recurring, unexpected panic attacks and are in constant fear of having another one, it’s what is called panic disorder.

A panic attack can range from mild to severe, and whatever the case is for you, you can overcome them.

As an anxiety disorder specialist, panic attacks, panic disorder, and anxiety attacks are also areas that I specialise in.

Understanding Panic Attacks - What are Panic Attacks?

A panic attack is an intense fear reaction that triggers a number of unpleasant bodily reactions which are set off by high levels of adrenaline. People usually feel considerable emotional and physical discomfort, and they can last anywhere from 5 to 20 minutes, although you may experience them in waves of up to 2 hours.

Sometimes people fear they are having a heart attack or even that they are dying, which causes them to panic even more. Despite their unpleasant nature, panic attacks themselves pose no physical harm and can be effectively treated. I have helped many people overcome them with my tailored treatment for panic attacks and panic disorder.

What Causes Panic Attacks?

Panic attacks are generally brought on by anxiety, although the cause or trigger may be unclear, and for some people it can be quite confusing because they have them when they seem to be relatively calm, like while they are in bed or watching TV.

Various factors like past trauma, phobias, or general stress and anxiety can precipitate panic attacks. It may be that you had an emotional event in your past that you found overwhelming and difficult to cope with, although you might not consciously make the connection. Added triggers can also be lack of sleep or excessive alcohol or drug use.

Panic Attack Symptoms

Experiencing a panic attack can be a harrowing experience, characterized by sudden and intense fear. Although panic attacks can manifest differently for each person, common symptoms include:

  • An overwhelming sense of dread
  • Shortness of breath
  • Rapid or pounding heart
  • Feeling very hot or cold
  • Dizziness, light headedness or feeling faint
  • Trembling, shaking or sweating
  • Nausea

Panic Attacks Treatment

My tailored panic attack treatment starts with helping you to understand what’s happening. This can help to reduce your fears as you start to realise that you are in no real danger. This can then help you to start to let go of the fear of having a panic attack, and help you to take back control.

Then I use various therapy techniques to work with your trigger situations, resolve the anxiety fuelling your panic attacks, and any underlying issues. By resolving the patterns and and triggers we can begin to break the cycle of fear, avoidance and panic so that you cease to have panic attacks and you don’t have them again in the future.

I use a powerful set of therapies and techniques and you would usually notice changes from the first session. Subsequent sessions help to further those positive, calming results, allowing you to overcome panic attacks within a relatively short period of time. It often only takes 1-3 sessions.

I give you tools and techniques so that you can be much more calm and in control of your own emotional, psychological and physical state.

Hypnotherapy for Panic Attacks

Hypnotherapy for panic attacks has been proven to be highly effective. It helps to calm your current levels of anxiety and it helps with underlying issues that lead you to having panic attacks.

During a hypnotherapy for panic attacks session, I use relaxation techniques and the latest effective hypnotherapy techniques to reduce the anxiety and stress that leads you to having panic attacks.

Hypnotherapy empowers you to regain control over your thoughts and emotions and can boost your confidence and self-belief. It can help you learn to build on your ability to access a much calmer state of mind.

Hypnotherapy is a complety safe, holistic, natural approach for overcoming panic attacks and helping with long-term emotional well-being.

Like the other therapies I use, you can have hypnotherapy online as well as face to face.

When hypnotherapy is combined with other techniques that I use such as EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques), NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming), and Time Line Therapy™, which is a powerful NLP technique, the effectiveness and benefits are enhanced.

If you have any questions about hypnotherapy for panic attacks or any of the other therapies I use, or any other questions about how I can help with panic attacks, I'd be happy to have a chat.
